Abstract
The key aspects of the formation of economic independence among student youth under modern socio-economic changes have been analyzed. The role of financial literacy, socio-economic status, psychological characteristics, and the educational environment in the process of economic socialization of youth is considered. It has been established that economic independence is an essential factor for the social integration of students into society, contributing to their financial stability and independence.
It has been determined that young people with a higher level of financial literacy and work experience show a greater readiness for economic independence. The study revealed that the main obstacles to achieving financial independence are a lack of knowledge, time, and insufficient support from family and social institutions. The significance of factors such as mentorship, work experience, and access to financial services in developing economic independence among student youth has been identified.
The mechanisms for forming economic autonomy are revealed, including the development of critical thinking, financial management skills, and the ability to adapt to economic instability. Special attention is paid to the impact of Ukraine's socio-economic conditions on the formation of students' financial behavior and their economic strategies. Psychological aspects such as self-efficacy and self-esteem, which determine the economic behavior of youth, are outlined.
It has been established that the economic independence of students largely depends on their psychological attitude towards financial independence, the level of financial literacy, and support from social institutions such as family and educational institutions. The scientific novelty of the study lies in identifying the connection between the subjective readiness of students for economic independence and their actual financial behavior.
The introduction of integrated educational programs on financial literacy, which combine theoretical knowledge with practical skills in personal finance management, is proposed. Emphasis is placed on the need for support from family and educational institutions to increase the level of economic independence of students. Prospects for further research may focus on studying the long-term impact of socio-economic and psychological factors on the economic behavior of youth in Ukraine.
