Abstract

The article is devoted to the theoretical study of the problem of the formation of entrepreneurial competencies, determined by the requirements of the modern stage of socio-economic development of society. The meaning of the concepts of "competence" and "competences" is clarified. The possibilities of developing entrepreneurial competencies based on the existing education system and the implementation of the Lifelong Learning paradigm are analyzed. It is noted that when solving the issue of forming entrepreneurial competencies necessary for modern economic conditions, it is necessary to carry out qualitative relevant transformations of the learning process. The transition from convergent to divergent thinking, the expansion of the principles and tasks of developing the business education system will allow, at the systemic level, through the implementation of the “lifelong education” paradigm, to add entrepreneurial competencies demanded by the economy to the basic human competencies. Business education should provide students with additional knowledge and skills to apply in the context of creating a new enterprise or developing an existing business. The key task for education is the formation of entrepreneurial competencies in students and pupils, because any field of education, regardless of its direction and practical significance, is based on the formation of a system of professional competencies. The more entrepreneurial competencies a person has in their arsenal, the more likely they are to cope with the business challenges they face. And, accordingly, the lack of certain entrepreneurial competencies in a person reduces his or her effectiveness in business activities. One of the tasks of educational institutions should be to combine entrepreneurship with practical activities in the process of teaching entrepreneurship to the younger generations.

The economic success of entrepreneurship is closely linked to entrepreneurial culture as well as entrepreneurial competencies. Along with factors such as the development of the entrepreneurship infrastructure, existing cultural and social norms, and the dynamics of market development, the factor of obtaining entrepreneurial education has a rather strong influence on the development of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial competencies. The importance of eliminating the contradiction between the need to implement entrepreneurial training for teachers from the standpoint of a competency-based approach and the insufficient development of the theoretical foundations of the formation of their entrepreneurial competence is emphasized.
