Abstract

The article presents the results of a theoretical and empirical study of dereminants of personality stress resistance. The aim of the research is to reveal the external and internal determinants of the personality's stress resistance from the standpoint of the activity approach. It has been established that the development of stress resistance is determined by: the personality's reaction to stress, its personal characteristics and the conditions of the socio-cultural environment. The external and internal determinants of the personality's stress resistance are highlighted on the basis of the activity approach. The criteria for assessing the development of personality stress resistance are highlighted: biopsychological, sociocultural, organizational and behavioral. The theoretical and methodological analysis of the determinants of personality stress resistance is carried out and the content of the criteria is revealed: psychobiological, sociocultural, organizational and behavioral. Psychobiological criterion: resistance to neuropsychic tension, low level of neuroticity, absence of fears and aggressive states. Sociocultural criterion: the use of constructive protection in aggressive working conditions; a high level of communicative tolerance, adequate communicative control, self-confidence and acertitude, positive motivation to perform professional duties, balanced character structures, mastery of strategies for overcoming conflict situations, etc. Organizational and behavioral criterion: social adaptation; frustration tolerance; constructive coping strategies (focus on solving problems, seeking social support), an increased index of volitional self-regulation, the presence of a meaning in life, etc. The effectiveness of the application of the program "Stress resistance" on the basis of an integrative approach for cadets-police officers and patrol police has been proved. The integrative development of personality stress resistance combines modern psychological ideas; dispositional and situational research approaches.
