Abstract

The article analyses theoretically the problem of professional maladaptation. The issue of occupational maladaptation (OM) and occupational / emotional burnout syndrome (PSD) of mid-level healthcare professionals under increased stress is considered. The study is important because maladaptation disorders and occupational / emotional burnout syndrome adversely affect work efficiency, life meanings, lead to loss of health, etc. The article analyses the constituents of the concepts of “emotional burnout” and “maladapted person”, objective and subjective signs of human maladaptation. The basic theoretical approaches of local and foreign scientists to this problem are studied and the action plan for timely detection of changes in psychological-emotional states of medical staff is developed. The analyzed previous studies are focused mainly on identified different factors and their influence on the mental health of nursing staff. One of the current and important research areas is the psychological-emotional states of nurses, contacting constantly (providing proper care and fulfilling doctor appointments) with combatants, war veterans. The results of our theoretical analysis show that there are no enough research on the peculiarities of psychological-emotional states and pathological personal factors of professional burnout in Ukraine. Satisfaction with different spheres of life and social frustration of nurses was not studied at all. There is a need to develop specific measures for medical and psychological correction and psychological prophylaxis of professional burnout for nurses working with patients under increased professional stress to improve the quality of their work and improve their social status.
